2015-2016 Curriculum

K4- 4 Years Old

This current school year we are combining Preschool and Kindergarten level material to make up our K4 school year. We are doing a letter of the alphabet each week again this year since Little Lady enjoyed it so much. This time around we are putting more emphasis on reading and writing each letter, instead of only letter recognition and phonics. The letter of the week gives us some guidance to our weeks in other subjects too, like science, art and reading. We have also added Life Skills and some other things to supplement our studies. This year is still fairly flexible and involves a lot of free play and creativity while learning.

Our curriculum choices for K4 included:

The One Year Devotions for Preschoolers

Daily Journal, Calendar and Weather

Grapevine Bible Study Traceable Versions, including Old Testament Part 1Old Testament Part 2 & The Birth of Jesus

Letter of the Week K4 Curriculum from Confessions of a Homeschooler

Spelling U See Listen and Write level

Math U See Primer level

Handwriting Without Tears My First School Book

Abeka Basic Phonics Readers

Extracurricular Activities: Creative Movement Dance, Story Time

This is not a complete list of all the resources we are using this year, but includes the major ones that are guiding our school year. Also, we did not begin the school year using all of the materials listed, but gradually added as Little Lady was ready.
